UPPER ENDOSCOPY (EGD)

Upper Endoscopy or esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) is a procedure performed to evaluate the esophagus, stomach and first portion of the small bowel. EGD is a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure for conditions such as abdominal pain, ulcers, bleeding, trouble swallowing, vomiting, anemia (low blood count), acid reflux/heartburn and chronic diarrhea.


Colonoscopy

Colonoscopy is a proceudre that is used to detect abnormalities of the colon and rectum. This procedure is used to investigate for causes of abdominal pain, diarrhea, weight loss, constipation, bleeding or other intestinal problems. It can identify cancer, bleeding lesions and diseases of the colon.


Esophageal Manometry

It is a test that is used to measure the function of the esophagus. It can identify problems with the pressure and movement of the esophagus that can cause problems swallowing or food getting stuck in the esophagus.
